Jewish Home Lifecare replies to our open letter

On June 2, Westsiders for Public Participation published an open letter to Jewish Home Lifecare, in which we requested complete information about its proposed relocation to West 100th Street.

On July 25, we received a reply from Jewish Home Lifecare. Today we respond to that reply for the purpose of correcting the public record.

Dear President Weiner:

I have received your reply to my Open Letter to Jewish Home Lifecare (JHL) dated June 2, 2010.

The Board of Directors of Westsiders for Public Participation finds that your six-page reply provides no meaningful answers to any of the questions posed in the Open Letter, and sheds no further light on the activities of JHL that have been shielded from both public view and public participation.

Your letter states that JHL has held a series of meetings with Park West Village neighborhood stakeholders, but demonstrates the opposite.

In reading this well stated and reasoned presetnation of the facts I am left to conclude not only that JHL 'continues to act in bad faith towards the residents of the Park West Village neighborhood (community) but that they also have a blatant lack of regard for their responsibility to uphold the public trust in general.  Their conduct does nothing but make me wonder the extent to which that same lack of regard for the neighborhood is reflected in the care they provide for their residents.  Residents whose quality of life extends beyond the confines of the 'building' and is at the end of the day about more then image management.

It is an outrage that JHL continues to lie and game the system and expects us to swallow-- hook, line, and sinker-- their shameless inventions.  I can only infer that they are motivated by both greed and a complete lack of interest in the welfare of those consigned to their dubious care and the people who live in the surrounding areas.  I am in a white hot rage  and  feel nothing but contempt for them.

And to our govenment representatives:  The mid-term election is not far away; step up or be prepared to be voted out.

I'm glad you're on the side of the citizens. Your dissection of that "response" was masterful. Woe betide the double-talker who crosses paths with WPP. Keep up the good work.
